Bertha Mabel Regnier
Bertha Mabel Regnier, 91, of Menahga, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at her home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1917 in Groton, Mass. to George and Betsey Carkin. She grew up and attended school in Groton, where she graduated from high school.
She married Joseph Regnier July 12, 1937 in Groton. He was a career military man and they moved a great deal during his military career. In 1958 they moved south of Akeley. For many years they raised honey bees on their property. She worked as a night nurse at Ah-Gwah-Ching State Nursing Home at Walker. She lived with her daughter south of Park Rapids since 1994. For many years she served as the training officer for the Military Affiliated Radio Systems.
She is survived by four children: Fran Dunn, of Illinois, Mary Lindquist, of Menahga, Joseph, of West Virginia, and Joan (Roger) Jantzen, of Minnesota; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Norstrom, of Pepperal, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Frank; and seven siblings.
Casket bearers: Rock, Allen and Chester Jantzen, Tony and Ben Lindquist, and Butch Farlee.
Funeral service: Monday, June 15 at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Park Rapids with Pastor James Pearce officiating.
Inurnment: A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
