The Bemidji Coca Cola Pee Wee A hockey team upped its record to 23-4 this week, shading Crookston 54 Thursday at Crookston and returning home to overwhelm Baudette 11-1 Sunday.

Both were district contests where Bemidji is now 7-3.

It travels to International Falls for a non-district game Sunday noon.

Bemidji needed overtime to win at Crookston, a team it had defeated at Bemidji 9-1 earlier.

Mikey Sauer had two goals and Jack Johnson and Jake and Nick Leitner one.

Assists went to Rocky Copiskey, Michael Forseth, Jake and Nick Leitner and Josh Lusby.

Kyle Krause tended goal making 20 saves. Crookston kicked aside 25.

Bemidji took shooting practice Sunday, outshooting Baudette 58-15.

Sauer had six goals, Copiskey two and Matt Gregg, Lusby and Jake Leitner one.

Johnson, Copiskey, Jake Leitner and Forseth had two assists and Sauer, Lusby, Eric Fitzgerald and Tarron Baker one.

Grant Tharaldson was in the net making 14 stops. LOW kicked back 47 Bemidji shots.

Squirts A

The Bemidji Squirts A finished seventh in a 12-team field this weekend at their own invitational tournament.

Bemidji finished with a 2-1-1 record, beating Ft. Frances 4-0 and tying Bloomington Jefferson 3-3 in pool play to drop into the consolation bracket.

There they fell to the Grand Forks Supras 3-2 before beating Congdon Park of Duluth 9-5 in the seventh place game.

Jefferson beat the Grand Forks Blues 4-1 for the title. Waconia was third with an 8-1 win over Grand Rapids. Fifth went to the Supras 3-0 over St. Norbert with Fergus Falls besting Ft. Frances 10-5 for ninth and Baudette blasting Wadena 11-1 for 11th.

Alex Pollock, Kyle Redland, Brady Tatro and Otto Grimm scored the four goals in the Ft. Frances win. Tatro, Isaac Berg, Pollock and Ethen Pickett had assists.

Matt Fitzgerald made 20 stops. Ft. Frances had 36.

Bemidji scored twice in the second period to deadlock Jefferson with the third period scoreless.

Pollock had two goals and Noah Nei one. Tatro had two assists and Jaret Lalli and Ryan Pogue one.

Trevor Bjerke made 19 stops. Jefferson had 17.

Pollock and Lalli had the goals in the Grand Forks loss. Tatro bad two assists and Lalli and Tanner Hammitt one.

Fitzgerald needed only seven saves. Grand Forks had 21.

In the seventh place game, Bemidji led 5-1 after two periods and played Duluth even in an eight-goal final stanza.

Pollock scored five goals, Tatro three and Pickett one.

Pollock, Lalli and Tatro had three assists, and Grimm and Brendan Takkunen one.

Bjerke made 18 stops. Duluth had 47.

Bemidji takes a 10-3-3 mark into its next game Saturday against Warroad at Neilson-Reise at 5 p.m.
