Girls 14-Under

The Bemidji girls 14-Under hockey team raised its record to 6-2-1 last week, winning two of its four starts and tying another.

It opened with a 1-0 setback against the Warroad JV at Warroad. Emily Frazer turned back 17 shots while Warroad kicked aside 18.

Bemidji returned to Nymore Gardens to beat North St. Paul's JV 2-1 with Sadie Defatte and Sierra Anderson scoring second-period goals with Jordyn Follis and Francesca Huerd assisting on the first and Huerd on the second.

Frazer made 20 saves. The NSP goalie had 25.

Bemidji then stopped the Moorhead 14-U 4-1 getting a hat trick from Anderson and one goal from Defatte.

Sylvia Grimm had two assists and Savannah DeLaHunt, Kelsey Isaacson and Madelyn Tews one.

Morgan Miller had 12 stops. Moorhead's goalie had 24.

Thursday night, the girls battled Grand Rapids-Greenway to a 1-1 tie, outshooting the Lightning 23-16.

Jordyn Follis scored for Bemidji in the first period off feeds from Allie Heifort and Madelyn Tews.

The Lightning tied the score in the second period and held off Bemidji's furious closing period when it outshot the visitors 9-3.

It had two of the three shots on goal in the overtime.

Miller had 15 saves for Bemidji.

Olivia Havel made 23 for the Lightning.

The team plays in the Brainerd Invitational next weekend.
