Bemidji woman injured, Wisconsin man dead after two-vehicle crash
A Barron, Wis. man died in a two-vehicle accident near Clear Lake on Thursday afternoon.
Terry Barber, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:30 p.m. May 3 crash along U.S. Highway 63 near 25th Avenue in the Village of Clear Lake, Wis.
Polk County Sheriff's deputies arriving at the scene found that a 1998 Ford Windstar, operated by Barber, was northbound on Highway 63 when it allegedly crossed into the southbound traffic lane and struck a 2002 Chevy R Vision motorhome. The motorhome was being operated by Robert L. Jessen of Bemidji.
Jessen was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by the Clear Lake Fire Department. A passenger in the motorhome, Edith A. Jessen, 79, of Bemidji was also injured in the crash and both were transported to Amery Regional Medical Center for treatment.
A passenger in Barber's vehicle, Sarah J. Barber, 29, of Barron was also transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Polk County Sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Clear Lake Police Department, Clear Lake Fire Department, Amery Fire Department, Amery Ambulance Service and Clear Lake Ambulance Service.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
