Today sees the Legion entertaining Brainerd in a twinbill which is slated to start at 5 p.m.

As has been the case all season Bemidji's offense wasted little time taking control of both games. In the opener the Legion scored three times in the first inning with the key blows being Cody Jenkins' RBI double and a 2-run double off the bat of Mason Bellew.

Nisswa closed within 3-2 with single runs in the second and third stanzas but Bemidji regained the momentum with three in the upper fifth. Mitchell Hendricks started the rally with a single and, after Tyler Follis contributed an RBI double, Rutledge belted a 2-run round-tripper.

The Legion capped its scoring in the seventh when Collin Leif singled and Rutledge doubled him home.

Hendricks had a pair of singles while Follis and Jenkins each had doubles.

Trent Baker went the distance on the Legion mound and collected his fourth pitching victory in as many decisions. Baker fanned four and allowed only two walks.

The rematch was over early as Bemidji scored four runs in the first and, after collecting single tallies in the second and third innings, erupted for seven runs in the fourth.

Rutledge sparked the first inning with a 2-run double while Follis singled home Hendricks in the second.

Singles by Jenkins and Bellew set the table for the third-inning tally and the Legion began the fourth inning with six straight hits.

Among them were an RBI double by Follis, Rutledge's 2-run double and run-scoring singles by Bellew and Nick Conner.

Bemidji continued to attack in the fifth as Jenkins singled, Bellew doubled him home, Sam Dwyer added a sacrifice fly and Dom Hayle provided an RBI single.

Bellew had a double and two singles while Jenkins contributed three singles, Rutledge a pair of doubles, Follis a double and a single and Leif two singles.

Follis allowed only two hits on way to his second pitching victory in as many decisions.
