Bemidji sweeps Little Falls

Bemidji's Legion team improved to 9-1 Tuesday when it swept Little Falls 9-0 and 10-3 at the BSU diamond.

Jeremiah Graves went the distance in the opener and worked the first inning of the rematch. Ryan Stevens relieved in the second and was awarded the pitching victory.

Bemidji' offense scored in each inning of the second game. Tyler Follis tripled home Collin Leif in the opening stanza and Nick Conner's double and Leif's sacrifice fly produced two in the second. A series of wild pitches gave the Legion two runs in the third and Zach Solheimhad an RBI single in the fourth.

Dom Hayle singled and scored in the fifth while Cody Jenkins' double, Solheim's triple and doubles by Dwyer and Hayle plated three in the sixth.

In Tuesday's opener Graves tossed a 3-hit shutout to lead the way.

Graves fanned eight and walked five and was working on a no-hitter until one out in the fourth when Little Falls spoiled the bid with a double.

The visitors added a single in the fifth and another in the seventh.

Bemidji took control with seven runs in the second and all the damage was done with two outs. Mason Bellew started the rally with a double and Dwyer was safe on an error. Conner singled and a walk to Hayle loaded the bases.

Leif followed with a 3-run double and he scored courtesy of Tyler Follis' triple. Cody Rutledge added an RBI single and Jenkins a run-producing double.

The Legion cemented the victory with a pair in the fifth on a walk to Trent Baker, Solheim's triple and Dwyer's single.

Follis finished with two triples and Solheim also had a triple.

Bemidji travels to Nisswa for two games today and hosts Brainerd on Thursday.
