The Jacks traveled to Brainerd and came home with 3-1 win.

With the victory, the Lumberjacks improve to 5-0 on the season. The Warriors fall to 6-4-2.

The Lumberjacks took the first two games fairly easily, winning 25-13, 25-15.

But the Jacks ran into trouble in the third game. The Warriors forced a game four with a dramatic 28-26 win.

However, in the end, the Jacks rallied and won game four, 25-14, to take the match.

“I think we were a little inconsistent in the third game,” assistant coach Netti Homer said. “But we’re glad to get the win.”

Jess Yost led BHS with 22 kills. She also had 18 digs.

Jasmin Yerbich had 19 digs, Allie Heifort led the team with seven aces, Alexa Greendahl had a team-high 39 assists and Blake Bardwell blocked the ball eight times for the Jacks.

Timi Severson also added 15 kills for BHS.

“We came back in game four with intensity,” Homer said. “That was good after the game three loss. We were solid today.”

The Lumberjacks travel to Nevis Thursday before returning home to host Duluth East Saturday afternoon.
