Bemidji State's Ohman victorious in 600 meters at Super 8 track and field meet

The Bemidji State women's track and field team competed in the Super 8 Open on Saturday at the Gillett Recreation Center.

Michelle Ohman led the Beavers with a first-place finish in the 600 meters. Ohman recorded a time of 1 minute, 41.97 seconds, almost three seconds ahead of the next finishers.


Bemidji State's MacKenzie Haupert finished second in the same event with a time of 1:44.65.

The Bemidji State 800 relay team took first with a final time of 1:56.06. The Beavers also won the 1,600 relay in a time of 4:14.88.

Emily Paquin finished the 3,000 meter run in fourth with a time of 13;13.92. Jessica Meyer followed close behind, finishing fifth with a time of 13:23.25.

Ashley Larva finished the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 9.26 seconds, good for second place behind Minnesota-Duluth's Kelsi Ring.

Tess Boucher finished the mile in 5:56.64, placing fourth. Aleona Reyes won the event in 5:12.41.

Bemidji kicked off the Super 8 Open on Friday, competing in the multi-event indoor pentathlon.

Taylor Sautbine finished in fourth place overall with 2,425 points while Larva was fifth with 2,411.

Sautbine used a career-best toss of 34-.75 in the shot put to take first-place in the event. She also was second in the 800 with a time of 2:42.40. Larva was fourth in the 800 in 2:47.39.

In the pentathlon, Larva again finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.33 seconds, one-thousandth of a second behind the Bulldog's Chanel Miller who won the event. Sautbine was third with a time of 9.59.

Larva was sixth in the long jump (14-5.75) and sixth in the shot put (25-2.5).
