Bemidji State's MacQueen signs pro contract

Jamie MacQueen, a former forward for the Bemidji State University men's hockey team, has signed a professional contract with the Lake Erie Monsters, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.

MacQueen will play out the remainder of the season with Lake Erie, which includes at least 13 regular-season games through April 14, with the hope of catching on with the organization for the 2012-13 campaign.

In 36 games played during the 2011-12 campaign, MacQueen piled up 11 points. He finished the season seventh in scoring among BSU forwards.

In 147 games played at BSU, MacQueen scored 24 goals and had 23 assists.
