Bemidji State earned the extra WCHA point after 13 rounds of a shootout period.

The Beavers pulled Tomcikova with 1:37 left in the third period and took advantage of the extra skater as Bauerfeld scored with 0:01 left on the clock. The Beavers crowded the net and continued to attack as Erin Cody and Erin Johnson both assisted on the Bauerfeld goal.

After the Beavers and Mavericks exchanged blows early in the shootout, freshman Erika Wheelhouse beat Mavs goalie Alli Altmann to give the Beavers the edge. Tomcikova sealed the win for the Beavers as she denied sophomore Jackie Otto, who was the 26th shooter of the shootout.

The teams finish their two-game series Saturday at 3:07 p.m.

Montana Vichorek scored Bemidji State's first goal early in the third period. The sophomore scored unassisted as her slapshot hit the post then deflected off Altmann's back.
