Freshman outside hitter Laura Carlson posted a match-high 13 kills and sophomore setter Courtney Bitter had recorded 51 assists to lead the Beavers.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Beavers.

Bitter's 51-assist night fell just one shy of her career-high and stood as the third time she has topped 50 in 2009.

Carlson led four Beavers with double-figure kill totals as BSU out hit the Huskies .188 to .137. Nicole Olson registered 12 kills and a team-high five blocks on the night, while Melissa McNeely recorded 11 kills and Laura Slinger posted 10 kills and led the team hitting at a .296 clip.

After the teams traded sets to open the match, 25-23 and 20-25, the Beavers found themselves down 6-11 early in the third, spotting SCSU seven points by way of unforced errors. But a kill by Slinger would awaken the sluggish Beavers and serve as a launching pad for an 11-2 run en route to scoring 21 of the last 29 points before gaining a 25-19 victory and control of the match.

Once the match was in its grasp, 2-1, Bemidji State kicked the pedal to the floor and played a nearly flawless fourth set to gain its 10th victory of the season. The Beavers hit a match-best .357 in the set, recording 16 kills, while committing just one error on 42 swings. Carlson served as BSU¹s closer posting five kills in the final frame, which included three consecutive points early to give the Beavers the lead for good. Bemidji State would go on to decisively win the set 25-14 and take the match.

The victory brings the Beavers season record to 10-17, while the team is 7-9 in NSIC play. BSU continues conference action this weekend with a road trip to the west. Bemidji State travels to Augustana College Friday for a 7 p.m. tilt and will battle Wayne State College (Neb.) Saturday at 4 p.m.
