The Beavers had moments where they played close with the Bulldogs Friday night but were not able to string together points at opportune moments.

Rachel Craig paced Bemidji State with 10 kills and a .500 hitting percentage on the night. Kelsi Crawford chipped in six kills and hit .312. The Beavers struggled offensively and hit only .082 overall on the night.

Setter Jessi-Beth McCannell led the Beavers with 19 assists.

Defensively, Laura Carlson led the way with 12 digs. Kimberly Hacker added four block assists.

Kate Lange had a strong night for UMD pacing the team with 22 kills and hitting .381.

The Beavers fall to 92-10-1 all-time against UMD. BSU last defeated the Bulldogs Sept. 20, 1998. The win was also the last time BSU picked up a victory over a ranked opponent.

The road does not get easier for Bemidji State. BSU hosts four-time defending national champion and current No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul Tuesday night at BSU Gymnasium.
