Bemidji State softball: Dragons sweep Beavers
The Bemidji State University softball team dropped Wednesday's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader to Minnesota State University Moorhead by scores of 6-0 and 3-1.
BSU had five hits in the first game, but failed to score a run in the 13th shutout this season.
Crystal Bowen batted 2-for-3 in the game and hit a double in the fourth inning. The pitching duo of Kelsey Saralampi and Chelsea Cardinal had five strikeouts.
The Beavers were led in the nightcap with a strong pitching effort by right-hander Courtney Anderson. She had 10 strikeouts, including five in the first two innings.
Jamie Lund's double in the fourth inning scored Stephanie Rossman from second base for the Beavers lone run of the game.
Bemidji State will close out its home season this weekend against Minnesota-Duluth for doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. at BSU Softball Field.
