Bemidji State softball: Anderson pitches one-hitter
Led by sophomore right-hander Courtney Anderson. the Bemidji State softball team picked up their second Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference win of the season Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Nrothern State.
Northern State rallied for a 5-4 win in eight innings to split the doubleheader in Aberdeen, S.D.
Anderson tossed a one hitter, struck out 11 and faced only 25 batters in the game. The lone hit came in the first inning.
Crystal Bowen went 2-for-3 in the game, scored two runs and had a pair of RBIs to lead the Beavers at the plate.
Stephanie Rossman hit a home run in BSU's second game loss.
Kelsey Saralampi pitched three innings for the Beavers and was replaced in the fourth inning by Anderson after giving up three runs to the Wolves.
Anderson came in only giving up one hit in the remaining four innings.
Trailing 4-2 in the sixth, Jamie Lund's two RBI hit in the sixth inning would force the extra innings for BSU.
Bemidji State finished the five-day road trip with four wins including one NSIC win. BSU hosts Southwest Minnesota State Saturday in a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
