PALM DESERT, Calif. -- The Bemidji State men's golf team finished in 18th place at the NCAA West/Central Super Regional Tournament Wednesday.


The Beavers shot 314 (+26) the final day at the Classic Club, a par 72 course that stretches to 7,100 yards.

The Beavers finished with a 939 overall (+75) after rounds of 315-310-314.

Bemidji State was led in the 54-hole tournament by junior Jim Foss. He finished the tournament tied for 58th place individually with a three round score of 14-over par. He shot rounds of 75-78-77.

Bemidji native and freshman Chris Curb was two strokes behind Foss at 16-over par (75-78-77).

Virginia's Casey Hill finished 96th at 26 over (81-77-84) and Josh Dale was 98th at 27 over (82-86-75).

Bemidji's Ben Moen rounded out BSU's competitors in 106th place at 35 over (86-78-87).

Defending national champion Sonoma State won the team event by shooting a 1-under par team score of 862.

The top five team scores advanced to the NCAA Division II national tournament May 17-21 in Noblesville, Ind.

Sonoma State's Janssen Todd won the individual title with a final score of 2-under par.

The conclusion of the 54-hole West/Central Super Regional draws the curtain on the 2009-10 Bemidji State men's golf season.

In addition to the super regional berth, the Beavers placed second at the NSIC championship, had three players earn All-NSIC honors and captured low team honors in five of the 12 events in which they competed.
