Bemidji State men's basketball: Beavers add two Minnesotans, one is Pioneer Press' Player of the Year
Bemidji State men's basketball head coach Matt Bowen announced Friday the signing of Albany's Zach Noreen and St. Paul Johnson's Max Rosenbloom to National Letters of Intent.
Noreen and Rosenbloom join Jeff Whicker as signees during the NCAA late signing period and will join the Beavers for the 2010-11 season.
All signees are contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
"We are extremely excited about the additions of Zach and Max to the 2010-11 roster," Bowen said. "Zach comes from a great basketball family. He is a skilled permitter/post player that is a strong inside/outside threat. Max brings a lot of leadership and intensity to his game. He is a warrior on the glass and plays tenacious defense."

Noreen was a 1,000-plus point scorer for Albany High School, guiding the Huskies to a 23-3 record his senior season...Noreen was also named to the 2010 Minnesota Associated Press All-State Boys Basketball Team and the St. Cloud Times All-Area Team.
- Max Rosenbloom, forward, St. Paul Johnson High School
Rosenbloom was named Pioneer Press Player of the Year his senior year, guiding St. Paul Johnson High School to a perfect 32-0 record and the school's first Class 3A state championship...He averagedd 9.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in his final season, shooting 56 percent from the floor and posting a 75 percent clip from the free throw line...He was a member of the 2010 Minnesota Associated Press All-State Boys Basketball Team.
