The Bemidji State football team won its regular-season finale Saturday afternoon.

The Beavers defeated Concordia-St. Paul 35-20 at Sea Foam Stadium.

The win gave the Beavers an 8-3 overall finish with a 6-3 record in the NSIC.

"I thought the kids played amazing today, especially in the first half with all the crazy plays," Bemidji State head coach Jeff Tesch said. "There was a blocked punt, safeties and all those crazy plays and we were able to regroup and have a solid second half."

Bemidji State led 21-12 at halftime.

Derek Edholm, Jody Henningson and Dustin Kroeplin led Bemidji State's offense and powered the win for the Beavers.

Edholm passed for 173 yards and three touchdowns, with two touchdowns of 32 and 33 yards going to Jody Henningson in the first quarter.

"Jody's really emerging as one of our quality players right now and made some great plays today," Tesch said.

Concordia pulled the game close in the fourth quarter and trimmed Bemidji State's lead to 28-20,

But Kroeplin iced the game with 2:00 remaining, scoring his lone touchdown of the day on a 5-yard run.

He rushed 26 times for 142 yards in the game.

There were come crazy plays in the game, starting with Bemidji State missing an extra point on Henningson's first touchdown of the game. It gave BSU a 6-0 lead at 13:25 of the quarter.

Concordia then picked up a safety to make it 6-2.

With Jesse Sundby back to punt, the snap flied over his head and he was forced to throw the ball out of the end zone.

At 5:05 of the second quarter, Al Quaye blocked Bemidji State's punt and returned it for a touchdown to cut BSU's lead to 13-12.

Three minutes later, Jordan Lardinois had a safety for the Beavers 15-12 by stopping Sam Campbell on a rush at the CSP one yard line.

Edholm punted the ball 34 yards to pin Concordia deep.

The Bemidji State defense put in a solid effort and limited the Golden Bears to 26 rushing yards and 266 passing yards.

Brody Scheff and Tiger Ellison each had interceptions for the Beavers. Cory Crosby registered BSU's lone sack of the day and Andrew Eagan led the team with nine tackles.
