In Sunday's opener the Wildcats opened a 7-0 lead through four innings before the Beavers got on the board with two runs in the fifth. Zach Braun recorded two RBIs in the inning with a double that plated Trevor Purvis and Juan Molero. WSC added two in the bottom of the fifth, however, en route to the 9-2 victory.

Purvis was the only player to record two hits, going 2-for-4 with a double in the fifth and a single in the sixth. Logan Kalis suffered his second loss of the season as he threw the first four innings and allowed seven runs (four earned) on six hits with four strikeouts.

WSC tallied single runs in the first and second innings to open an early 2-0 lead in Sunday's rematch. The Beavers got their lone run in the sixth on Luke Hellquist's one-out single to left that scored Kalis from third. BSU had the bases loaded in the inning but the Wildcats converted a double play to end the frame.

Jaryd Marks and Dylan Webb each had two hits. Marks also pitched all six innings and was tagged with his first loss of the year. He allowed two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts.

The Beavers open their NSIC schedule Saturday and Sunday at Concordia-St. Paul. All NSIC doubleheaders will start with a seven inning game and close with a nine inning contest.

The Beavers won two of the three doubles matches and split the six singles battles Saturday in a 5-4 victory over U-Mary.

Miranda Milless and Caley Westin teamed for an 8-2 win at first doubles and Kellie Christiansen combined with Meg Hafdahl for an 8-3 victory at second.

In singles play, Westin won 6-2, 6-1 at fourth, Milless prevailed 6-2, 6-2 at second and Hafdahl posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at fifth.

BSU improved to 2-9 overall and 2-2 in the NSIC.
