Bemidji stabbing suspect in custody at Beltrami County Jail awaiting formal charges

Sheriff Phil Hodapp reports an arrest was made on Saturday, June 12, 2010 in an assault investigation conducted by the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office in the 1100 block of Augusta Drive N.E.

Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting the stabbing of a 22 year old female at the Augusta Drive location. The victim was being transported by friends to the hospital in a private vehicle which was spotted by responding deputies and stopped near First and Lake Streets. Bemidji Ambulance Service arrived and began treating the victim who was subsequently transported to North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.

Deputies and Investigators secured the crime scene and discovered the suspect still located at the scene. The 22 year old female suspect was taken into custody without further incident by officers. The victim is reported to be in good condition. The suspect is in custody at the Beltrami County Jail awaiting review of formal charges by the Beltrami County Attorney's Office.
