Bemidji Speedway season begins during Memorial Day Weekend
BEMIDJI — After months of cold, snow and a very late spring the Bemidji Speedway racing season will officially begin Saturday, May 25. Kicking off the 2013 racing season will be the annual car show held at Auto Value in Bemidji from 9 a.m. to noon. Following that event the drivers and their crews will head to the track for testing and tuning.
The Memorial Day weekend will feature racing at 5 p.m. Sunday and at 4 p.m. Monday.
This summer the track will host the Wissota sanctioned Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Mod Fours, along with the Bemidji Pure Stocks and Mini Stocks.
Most of last year’s track champions, Dalton Carlson in the Super Stocks, Doyle Erickson in the Midwest Modifieds, Conrad Schwinn in the Mod Fours, Bill Beaulieu in the Pure Stocks and Rick Watson in the Minis, will return to defend their championships.
On July 28 the Amsoil Race of Champions will take place and the season championship racs will be held on Aug. 25. The traditional finish to the season will be the Paul Bunyan Stampede held this year on Sept. 28-29.
