Kanten Russell, a professional skateboarder and lead skate park designer with SITE, will hold the session.

Local skateboarders will be able to provide input on the design of the Bemidji Skate Park.

The Skate Park will be built next summer in Bemidji City Park.

The project has been a joint effort between the city of Bemidji and local skate enthusiasts.

Skate park supporters, led by volunteer Nate Dorr, have raised more than $313,000 through grants and donations. They have received grants from the Neilson Foundation, Tony Hawk Foundation, and Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.

Fundraising efforts are ongoing as they still are working locally to meet their goal of $450,000.

SITE has constructed more than 200 skate facilities throughout the world, according to its Web site at sitedesigngroup.com. It is an international planning, design and construction services firm specializing in public and skate parks, bike parks, moto parks, and progressive action sport facilities.

Some of their projects include the largest concrete park on the globe, Black Pearl in the Grand Cayman Islands; the first-ever urban street plaza, DC Skate Plaza, in Kettering, Ohio, and as featured on MTV's "Cribs," Tony Hawk's personal backyard skate park.
