Bemidji School Board: Extracurricular committee to be discussed Monday
BEMIDJI – Eleven individuals have been suggested to represent the local school district on a committee to further explore the issue of allowing charter-school students to participate in Bemidji School District extracurricular activities, such as athletics.
The Bemidji school board is expected to consider appointing 11 people to the Extracurricular Activities Study Committee during its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Bemidji High School.
A group of charter-school parents appeared before the school board in March, asking for further discussion of allowing middle-schoolers at the charter school to participate in extracurricular activities.
The committee would explore the issue and make recommendations to the school board for consideration.
