Bemidji School Board to address levy question

BEMIDJI – Area voters likely will be asked this fall to consider renewing the Bemidji School District’s operating levy.
The Bemidji school board on Monday is expected to consider a resolution authorizing the district to ask voters to renew the district’s current $501-per-pupil operating levy.
That levy is set to expire in 2013.
If the school board supports the resolution, it would authorize the question to appear on the Nov. 6 general election ballot.
The school board will convene at 6:30 p.m. in the media center at Bemidji High School.
The operating levy, which if approved would run for seven years, has been used by the school district to fund all-day, every-day kindergarten, purchase new buses and fund resources to keep class sizes down, according to previous statements from school board administration.
