Bemidji police officers receive scholarships

Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin presented parking enforcement officers Zachary Ruport, left, and Anthony Olson, right, with $750 scholarships from the Minnesota Police Chiefs Association during the Sept. 4 Bemidji City Council meeting. Each year MCPA awards as many as 10 $750 scholarships to law enforcement students in the state. The scholarship is presented to individuals pursuing a career in law enforcement. Ruport has been attending Bemidji State University and will be attending the SKILLs program in the summer of 2013. Anthony Olson earned his degree from Kaplan University and recently completed the SKILLs program at Hibbing Technical College.
