New hire to NMF Board of Directors

BEMIDJI – Kristin Eggerling of Hallock was recently elected to the Northwest Minnesota Foundation Board of Directors.

Eggerling is a freelance writer. Her focus is creative and business writing, and she blogs for Conservation Minnesota.

She and her husband Paul Blomquist own C and M Ford in Hallock and Roseau County Ford. Eggerling has most recently worked in the public health fields as the administrator for Quin Community Health Services.

She serves as Chair on the Hallock Public Library Board and is Vice Chair of the State Coordinating Committee of the Regional Sustainable Development Partnership. She also serves on the Conservation Minnesota Voter Center Board, Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership Board, the Hallock Lion’s Club, and the Kittson County DFL Chair.

Walker florist is FTD premier florist

WALKER – Jean Ann Lynch of Walker Floral has recently been designated as a Florists’ Transworld Delivery premier florist.

The recognition is available to top quality florists that are part of the 100-year-old FTD florist network. FTD premier florists such as Walker Floral provide customers with floral designs and quality customer service. Fifteen percent of FTD members nationwide qualify for the premier florist designation.

Lynch said she and her certified design team are proud of the recognition.

Karvakko welcomes new hires

BEMIDJI – Karvakko Engineering recently added Zac Mclellan, Brian Bakken and Justin Rognstad to its staff as technicians.

Mclellan is a 2011 Bemidji State University graduate with a degree in environmental studies and a wetlands ecology minor with an emphasis in ecosystems studies.

Bakken holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in marketing management from Concordia University in St. Paul and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in natural resources law enforcement from Vermillion Community College in Ely. He is also experienced in utility installation.

Rognstad has a background in utility installation with more than 10 years of experience in construction and management roles.

Karvakko Engineering is based in Bemidji with branch offices in Minot, N.D., and Chassell, Mich. The firm provides engineering, surveying and planning services throughout the upper Midwest.

It specializes in aviation, municipal, energy and transportation engineering, land surveying and landscape architecture.
