Bemidji pee wee team places fourth at Paul Bunyan International
Bemidji, which captured the North Division Pool with a 2-0-1 record, dropped its two games in the Championship Bracket of the Paul Bunyan International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament, losing to St. Michael-Albertville 7-2 and to Roseau 6-5 to finish fourth in the 16-team field.
In pool play Bemidji defeated Keweenaw 7-2, edged Rogers 6-5 and tied Fergus Falls 5-5.
Grand Forks defeated St. Michael-Albertville 2-1 Sunday afternoon at the Sanford Center to win the championship.
Grand Forks, which defeated Brainerd 8-3, Cloquet 4-2 and Armstrong-Cooper 10-1 in pool play, advanced to the championship game against St. Michael-Albertville by nipping Roseau 2-1 in the semifinals.
Hermantown claimed the Lumberjack championship with a 6-1 victory over Cloquet. Keweenaw won the Blue Ox title with a 5-2 win over St. Cloud and Fergus Falls was the Headwaters champion with a 4-2 win over Armstrong-Cooper.
