The Legion captured the opener 8-6 and claimed the rematch 9-4.

Today the Legion will host Little Falls in a doubleheader at the BSU diamond beginning at 5 p.m. and Wednesday it will entertain Brainerd at 7 p.m. Ryan Hirt and Zach Solheim are scheduled to start on the mound today.

"We need to win all five games and we got the first two," said Bemidji coach Mike Fogelson. "We started the week off in the right direction."

Cody Jenkins went the distance on the Legion mound in Monday's opener and his 3-run home run in the top of the sixth provided the winning runs.

Sam Dwyer contributed a 2-run single in the second inning and Bemidji scored a pair in the third on a walk to Cody Rutledge, Collin Leif's single, a fielder's choice and an error.

Rutledge gave the Legion a 5-3 lead with a solo home run in the fourth but Brainerd tied it with two in its half of the frame. Jenkins, however, settled the issue with his round-tripper in the sixth.

Mitchell Hendricks had three singles, Leif two singles, Jenkins a single and a home run and Mason Bellew a double and a single.

In the rematch Brainerd's mound staff issued 13 walks and the Legion turned those free bases into a 9-4 victory. Leif and Bellew each contributed a pair of singles.
