8th grade girls

The Bemidji 8th grade girls made it two straight wins Friday at Crookston, stopping the Pirates 35-17.

Bemidji took a 14-11 halftime lead and widened it down the stretch.

Karlie Leif led with 10 points. Katrina Holman added seven, Tori Koch, Bethany Knutson and Megan Serratore four and Maura Chadwick, Alissa Sagedahl and Jenna Thompson two.

Alexa Greendahl led the rebounders with five.

The team plays at Grand Rapids today in its next start.

7th grade girls

The 7th grade girls lost to Crookston 34-23 to fall to 1-2. It also plays today at Grand Rapids.

Bemidji trailed only 11-9 at the break but was unable to pull the game out.

Sydney Hinrichs hit six, Emily Falldorf, Amber Goeb and Alexis Konecne four, Katie Buckanaga and Lauren Rickers two and Anna McLean one. H

inrichs topped the rebounders with 11.

Saturday's appearance at the Alexandria Invitational was cancelled when bad weather called off the tournament.

It likely cannot be rescheduled.
