Bemidji man injured after pickup crashing into tree

GRANT VALLEY TOWNSHIP - A 48-year-old Bemidji man was injured this morning after his vehicle struck a tree.

The crash happened on Becida Road Southwest, also known as Beltrami County Road 7, near Fern Lake Road, about five miles southwest of Bemidji.

Beltrami County officials were notified of the crash at 8:34 a.m.

The man, who has not been identified, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, which left the roadway and struck the tree, according to the Sheriff's Office.

First responders were forced to extricate the driver, who was wearing a seat belt, from the pickup. He was then taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

The Sheriff's Office said it could not release the extent of the driver's injuries.

No other details were immediately available.
