Bemidji HS wrestling team earns two victories
Bemidji won a pair of dual meets Tuesday at a high school wrestling triangular at Bertha.
The Lumberjacks opened with a 41-35 decision over Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale and followed with a 45-30 victory over Alexandria.
Double winners for Bemidji were senior Gary Molash, sophomore Craig Maas, junior Colton Doty and junior Kodi Craft. Each pinned both of his opponents.
Seventh grader Michael Fogarty won by decision and forgfeit. Senior Tyler Molitor won by pin and by forfeit.
In the victory over Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale, Bemidji got consecutive pins from Maas, Doty and Craft to ice it. That same threesome repeated the triple-pin scenario in the Alexandria dual.
The Lumberjacks host Badger-Greenbush-Middle River Thursday and compete in the Fergus Falls Invitational Saturday.

The Bemidji Middle School placed 17 of its wrestlers at the Alexandria Junior High Invitational Saturday.
Despite having no freshmen, Bemidji placed fourth in a strong field.
Winning titles were John Seelye and Garrett Strain.
Taking second were Parker Beyer, Brady Wilander and Dillon Sauceda.
In third came Nick Peterson, Larimee Martell, Justin Bedeau, Lucas Gast and Chance McCray.
In fourth came Corey and K. McAllister and Josh Seelye.
Finishing fifth was Cody Carter while Seth Perkins, Kyle Leskiew, and Ethan Hauser were sixth.,
The Middle School hosts BGMR Thursday at 5:3-0 in one of its final dual matches of the year.
