Bemidji HS wrestling: Maas starts charge in victory over Roseau
A year ago the Bemidji High School wrestling team went 6-18 in dual meets and the goal of this winter's squad was to double that victory total.
The Lumberjacks seem well on their way of accomplishing that feat as they reached 11 wins Tuesday after dumping Roseau 49-25.
BHS has three triangulars remaining and the Jacks could reach the 12-victory plateau Friday when they head to St. Cloud Apollo.
Tuesday at Roseau Bemidji dropped four of the first five matches but Craig Maas started the Jacks on their winning ways with a 9-4 decision victory at 135.
Isaiah Moore continued the winning streak with a pin at 1:10 and the Lumberjacks would take control by capturing six of the remaining seven matches.
Cody Thoring won by a pin at 145 as did Kade Johnson at 152, Tyler Molitor at 160 and Nick Maggert at 215. Al Johnson posted a 9-0 major decision at heavyweight and Dustin Greenman was awarded a forfeit triumph at 189.
In the second match of the night Michael Fogarty pinned Casey Warner in 1:05.
