The Bemidji High boys took second place and the girls third at the Little Falls Invitational ski meet Monday at Camp Ripley.

The meet was run over the Section 8 course using the pursuit format that will be in use at the section.

It also gave Coach Mark Walters a chance to test his team against most of the better section teams.

St. Cloud Tech took the boys title with 385 points to 351 for Bemidji. Little Falls had 343, Anoka 339 and Brainerd 327 in a 16-team field.

Detroit Lakes, Alexandria, Apollo and Willmar were among some of the trailing teams.

Sam Anderson of Tech won the 10k test in 33:53. Matt Lee of Bemidji was second at 34:30 with Jake Richards of DL, Nick Proell of Tech and Eli Fark of Tech the next three.

For Bemidji, Tony Sagedahl was 12, Adam Holter 19 and Kyle Sagedahl 20 to complete the scoring.

Sam Dwyer was 33, Eli Rassler 46, Lucas Brokl 50, John Buckanaga 61, Zach Hewitt 76 and Carl Graefe 84.

C.J. Merhar was 42 for Trek North.

Girls race

Little Falls took the girls title with 369 points to 345 for St. Cloud Cathedral-Sartell and 340 for Bemidji, Brainerd and Anoka rounded out the top five in a 14-team field.

Alexandria, DL, Apollo, Willmar and Tech were among the teams behind Bemidji.

Hannah Kellerman of Cathedral-Sartell won in 39:52 with Maria Anderson of Cathedral second in 41:17.

Manon Gammon-Deering of Little Falls took third with Bemidji's Bailey Drewes and Molly Manske fourth and fifth.

Laura Yourd was 21 and Tiffany Mason 34 a to complete the scoring. Alicia Papke-Larson finished 37, Kristina Lengerhuis 85 and Anna Mangiamele 92

The skiers host their own invitational at Buena Vista Saturday, the final major meet of the regular season. The section meet is Feb. 3.

No team totals were maintained for the JV races ,but Matt Chatterton and Matt Armstrong finished 1-2 for Bemidji's boys.
