Bemidji won the boys title and took second in the girls division Tuesday a the Otter Tail Nordic Classical Invitational meet at the Spidahl Ski Gardens at Fergus Falls.


Skiing a 6k route, Bemidji took the boys title with 375 points to 363 for Detroit Lakes and 362 for Little falls.

Brainerd, Deer River, Trek North and the host OTNS skied incomplete.

Jake Richards of DL won the individual title with a time of 18:38, beating Bemidji's Matt Lee by 12 seconds. Dylan Ramstad-Skoyles of DL, Zean Baker of Brainerd and Little Falls' Rick Devine rounded out the top five.

For Bemidji, Tony Sagedahl was eighth, Adam Holter ninth and Sam Dwyer 10 to complete the scoring.

Kyle Sagedahl was 19 Eli Rassler 24, Lucas Brokl 26 and Carl Graefe 30 in a field of 31.

C.J. Merhar was 22 as the lone Trek North skier.

Little Falls took the girls title with 379 points to 374 for Bemidji with n Detroit Lakes third at 349.

The Ellefson Home School, Deer River, Brainerd and Battle Lake were incomplete.

Summer Ellefson won the individual title in 22:04. the Home School's only entrant.

Bailey Drewes of Bemidji was second in 23:01 with Maria Hauer of Little Falls third, Molly Manse of Bemidji fourth and Manon Gammon-Deering of Little Falls fifth.

Alicia Papke-Larson was 11 and Laura Yourd 13 to complete the Bemidji scoring. Tiffany Mason was 16 as the lone kicker.

There were 25 skiers in the division.

Bemidji took the boys JV title with 36 points to 351 for Little Falls and 338 for DL.

Cole Sundquist and Luke Suma of Brainerd were 1-2 over a 5k route, Sundquist timed at 19:03.

The Warriors, however, had only three skiers.

For Bemidji, Zach Hewitt was fourth, John Buckanaga sixth, Matt Chatterton eighth and Matt Armstrong 10 as the four scorers.

Andy Berube was 11, Tanner Asper 12, Devin Danielson 13, and Trent Buckanaga 15 in a field of 25.

Brainerd took the girls JV title with 389 points to 359 for DL and 345 for Little Falls.

Sarah Fairbanks of Brainerd won in 2:37, almost two minutes ahead of Ida Weltzien of OTNS.

For Bemidji, Kim Truedson was fourth in 25:38, Kristina Lengerhuis 10 and Anna Mangiamele 22.

The skiers head to the Alexandria Invitational Saturday for their next start.
