Bemidji HS golf: Jacks boys take eighth, girls finish in sixth place
Bemidji finished eighth in a field of 15 during Thursday's boys golf meet hosted by Alexandria.
The Lumberjacks shot 323, well behind Fargo South's winning 298.
Alexandria Black was second at 300 while St. Cloud Tech finished at 310.
Luke Davison of Fargo South was meet medalist, carding a 68. Chris Schultz of Alexandria and Sean Halverson of Brainerd tied for second with 73s.
Kevin Larson and Caleb Hanson paced the Lumberjacks with 77s. Trey Dale shot 84, Joe Welle 85, Rylee Curb 85 and Max Hazelton 86.
Bemidji will complete the two-day meet today at The Preserve in Pequot Lakes.
The boys junior varsity team was at Detroit Lakes Thursday. Fargo South shot 321 to claim the team crown. Bemidji carded a 351.
Elliot Leimen and Kodi Kraft shot 86, Sam Starkey 89, Beau Borowski 90, Zack Rickers 90 and Wyatt Miller 103.
The varsity girls golf team was sixth of 18 teams after the first day of competition at The Preserve and The Pines. The meet will conclude today at The Pines in Nisswa.
The Jacks shot 368 Thursday, well behind Grand Rapids which dominated the action with a 336. A distant second were Hermantown and Brainerd, both at 364.
Virginia carded a 365 and Apollo was at 366.
Individually, Jenny Muesing of Brainerd shot 75 while Molly Hoppe of Brainerd and Mikki Kromy of Grand Raids were at 76.
Bemidji's scores included Meg Phelps at 88, ShelbySauer's 90, Emily Frosaker's 93, Marissa Loch's 97, Aimee Sandquist's 99 and Erin Buckanaga's 105.
The girls junior varsity was at Detroit Lakes Thursday and finished second of 10 teams with a 439. Detroit Lakes took the team title at 416.
Amy Frosaker paced Bemidji with a 94. Other Bemidji scores included KatelinCraft at 99, Alyssa Johnson at 119, Nicole Ramos at 126, Rachel Caduff at 127 and Abby Moudry at 128.
