The East Grand Forks Green Wave rolled over the Bemidji girls soccer team 4-1 Thursday at the Middle School field.
East Side rolled to a 3-0 lead at halftime then limited Bemidji to two shots in the final 40 minutes.
It out shot Bemidji 25-7, raising its record to 10-0. Bemidji fell to 5-5-1. It hosts Apollo tomorrow at 1 and goes to Grand Rapids Monday afternoon.
The Green Wave looked more like a tidal wave much of the day, using its extreme quickness and sharp passing to keep Bemidji off balance.
The home team had some good scoring chances early launching five shots on goal in the first 10 minutes.
But after that, shots were hard to come by as the East Side defense stifled the Bemidji attack thoroughly.
It was perhaps the best team Bemidji will face this season.
The scoring started at the 5:39 marl when Teresa Adamson's corner kick was converted by Leah Jensen at the right corner from point blank range.
Adamson added the second goal at 13:11 when she was left unmarked in the box on a breakaway for a 10 yarder.
Jensen scored her second goal at 18:59 on a header at the left corner after receiving the ball on another header by Dani Pickard at the right corner of the net.
At the break East Side held a 17-6 shots bulge with each goalie showing three saves.
Bemidji stiffened its defense in the second half, began booting longer kicks down field in a dump and chase pattern but was seldom able to reach the ball before the Green Wave defender.
Yet Alexa Wang found shooting room at 52:30 to launch a 30 yard bullet from the right side that sailed over the head of goalie Chelsea Grassel.
The score seemed to boost the Bemidji mind set and it stepped up its play, particularly in the defensive end, holding the visitors to fewer good shots.
Their final goal came at 65:14 when Jaclyn Scanlan deked a Bemidji defender in the box and was open when she fell to score a 15 yarder from the left side.
East Side had one final scoring chance in the closing 10 seconds when a close range shot hit the cross bar.
Nicole Ramos ended with five save. Grassel had just the three in the first half.
The JV continued its scoring struggles bowing 4-0. East Side scored three times in the first half, the third coming when a Bemidji player put an errant pass into her own net.
Whitney Morin had 10 saves for Bemidji. East Side had only four.
