Bemidji HS girls golf fourth at Virginia Invite
Meg Phelps carded an 88 to lead the Bemidji girls golf team to a fourth-place finish at Saturday's Virginia Invitational.
Grand Rapids took team honors with a 366 and Hermantown was second at 371. The host team placed third at 375 and Duluth East rounded out the top-five with a 388.
Emma Kitchel of Virginia was the medalist as she shot 81 over the par 36-37-73 layout. Mikki Kromy of Grand Rapids was second at 83.
Phelps shot 44-44-88 and Shelby Sauer 45-46-91. Other Bemidji scores included Katelin Craft's 48-51-99, Amy Frosaker's 54-52-106 and Aimee Sandquist's 53-54-107.
Emily Frosaker was scheduled to play but she missed the meet because of illness.
The Lumberjacks will head to Long Prairie on Friday for a meet on the course that will stage the section tournament later this spring.
