Dylan Hoven won the 200 butterfly to lead the Bemidji boys swimming team at Thursday's Moorhead Triangular.
Fargo South won the meet with 396 points while Bemidji scored 337 and Moorhead 211.
The meet featured only seven events and they reflected the distances which would be found at a collegiate meet.
"It's a long season and the Moorhead coach came up with something different," said BHS coach Woody Leindecker. "Everybody enjoyed the change. It is good to get out of your comfort zone once in awhile and break the monotony of the regular season."
Instead of the 100 fly Thursday's meet featured the 200 fly and Hoven won the event in 2:25.34. Adam Falk was second in the race with a time of 2:28.11.
The pair joined Tyler Hemp and Seth Olson on the 400 medley relay team which finished second in a time of 4:16.52.
Hoven, Falk, Nick Nyberg and Hemp combined for a second-place finish in the 800 free relay (8:02.40) while Nyberg was second in the 1,000 free (11:19.35), Falk was third in the 400 IM (5:12.31) and Matt Arndt third in the 200 breast (2:47.73).
Nyberg also placed fourth in the 200 back (2:22.15).
Bemidji is off until traveling to the Hibbing Invitational on Feb. 5.
