It kept Bemidji unbeaten at 4-0-1 and 3-0-1 in Lakes to Prairie League play.

The Jacks and Detroit Lakes will meet Tuesday in a key game at Bemidji. They played the 2-2 tie at DL in their first meeting.

The game was played in a strong wind that favored the team using it.

East Side had the first half advantage and vaulted off to a 3-0 lead in the first 12 minutes.

But Bemidji got one back before the half and used the wind to its advantage to add three second half goals and win.

Max Hazelton led the way with two goals and an assist. Rylee Curb and Mike Burns scored once.

"We didn't come to play," said Coach Rick Toward, " But once we got that straightened out at halftime, things got much better."

Kevin Larson had only three stops, all day, all in the first half.

Josh Regorran had three for the Wave in the first half but turned back 10 in the second half to reach 14 on the day.

East Side scored after only one minute when Cory Mack picked off a Bemidji dribble and came in alone.

It scored off a corner kick at 9:00 and a third time at 12:00. Mack had the first and third goals.

Hazelton got one back one minute after Mack's second goal to start Bemidji on its comeback.

Curb cut the deficit to one at the 53 minute mark, his goal tying him with Eric Scotland for career goals with 34.

Hazelton tied the game at the 75 minute mark off a Mike Rees feed and Burns drilled home the game winner with four minutes to go with Hazelton getting the feed.

Bemidji continued pressuring the goal the rest of the way but was unable to score again.

It was the same story for the JV which used the wind in the second half to score twice and win 3-2.
