The Bemidji baseball team will head south today for a pair of games at two different sites.
The Lumberjacks will visit Sartell for a noon contest and, when that game is over, they will take a bus ride to Sauk Rapids for another game.
"We expect to play two quality teams and that is exactly what I am hoping to see," said BHS coach Mike Fogelson.
"Hopefully, we will pitch and our defense will continue to be strong. Our goal this weekend will be to improve offensively. If every guy in the lineup would have one more productive at-bat each game we would have a great offense."
Fogelson will continue to experiment with his lineup in an attempt to better understand his team's potential.
"Overall, I'm happy with the way we're playing," the coach said. "We just wanted to play good baseball and I think we are.
"It's early in the season but after this weekend we will have played three teams in our section and we'll have a better understanding of where we are and how far we can go."
