Bemidji house fire causes $26,000 in damage
BEMIDJI -- A house fire on the 400 block of Adams Avenue Northwest on Wednesday evening caused an estimated $26,000 in damage, officials said.
No injuries were reported at the fire, which occurred just after 5 p.m. Wednesday. When firefighters arrived, the house was full of smoke and there was a fire in the basement, according to a release from the Bemidji Fire Department. A total of 16 firefighters used three fire engines and a water tender to extinguish the fire and were on scene about three hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's office and local officials.
