Corey Huber and Evan Olson remained alive after the second day of the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center.
Both will advance to today's wrestleback quarterfinals at 4, needing one more win to assure themselves of placing.
They will be joined there by the losers of the championship bracket semifinals which also go on at 4.
Saturday will find the third and fifth place matches at noon and the championship bouts at 3:30.
Huber lost his opener Wednesday to Dalton Lilledahl of Cambridge-Isanti and continued when Lilledahl won his quarterfinal bout Thursday afternoon.
That matched him against John Thompson of Mounds View with Huber dominating the match 13-0. Thompson had bowed to Lilledahl by two points.
The win was his 30th against five losses.
Olson, who won his opener Wednesday in a 5:30 fall over Tyler Kubler of Eden Prairie, was pinned by Mitch Hrovat of Centennial at 2:58 while trailing 2-1.
But he came back in the evening round to oust Max Smith of Eagan by dominating the match.
It lifted Olson to 24-9 this season.
The wrestleback winners in the 4 p.m. round are assured of finishing no lower than sixth place.
Last year Brandon Bahr finished third and Steve Masterson fifth at the state
Huber ended 2-2, one win short of placing.
