Bemidji High School sports: Two Saturday events rescheduled
Two of the eight BHS sports events wiped out by Saturday's storm have been reset.
Several others have been wiped out and one is yet to be rescheduled.
The boys basketball game at Sauk Rapids will be played this Saturday at Sauk Rapids with the B and C games at 1 and the varsity game at 2:45.
The game is a Section 8-3A contest which both teams wished to replay for seeding purposes.
The girls game at Sauk Rapids will not be replayed with the two schools in separate sections this year.
Bemidji also did not have an open Saturday the remainder of the year.
The girls hockey game at Brainerd will be replayed Tuesday, Feb. 9.
The boys hockey game with Roseau has yet to be rescheduled but is expected to be replayed before the season ends.
It is both a Section 8AA and Mariucci Conference game.
None of the four tournaments will be held.
The Bemidji Invitational ski meet at Buena Vista was the final major event before the sectional Feb. 3 but no common date could be found for the five teams entered here
The True Team sectional at Detroit Lakes also has been cancelled.
No announcement has been made on determining a qualifying team for the state meet this Saturday at Minnesota University.
The gym meet at Apollo has been cancelled with the Eagles and one other team managing to compete last Saturday.
The Thief River Falls Invitational wrestling meet also was held with only five of the 15 teams listed able to reach Thief River.
Two who did not were Detroit Lakes and Bemidji.
But they will meet Thursday at Alexandria in a meet expanded from a triangular to quadrangular with Bertha-Hewitt the fourth team.
That meet is expected to start at 5 p.m. with three rounds on adjacent mats.
