Bemidji High School girls golf team third at Wadena
WADENA -- The Bemidji girls golf team placed third at the Wadena-Deer Creek Invitational, held at Whitetail Run Golf Course. The Jacks shot 358, while first-place Grand Rapids shot 338 and Alexandria shot 343 to take second.
"We're still trying," BHS head coach Jeff Nelson said. "We're a little disappointed, but they all had some good shots. There's still room to improve."
Katelin Craft was the top Lumberjacks golfer, carding a 43-43-86. Kelsey Isaacson was the only other player to score in the 80s, scoring 45-44-89.
"We had some big scores that brought us down," Nelson said.
The Lumberjacks have one final tournament at Detroit Lakes Tuesday before sections begin June 4.
"We're going to keep working," Nelson said. "We have some good kids, they work hard."
