Bemidji High School girls golf: Jacks take fourth at Monticello
The Bemidji High School girls golf team made its debut Wednesday, taking fourth place at the 16-team Monticello Invitational.
Playing the Monticello Country Club, Bemidji finished with a 399, twenty strokes behind champion Grand Rapids.
Albany took second and Spring Lake Park third. Among section teams, Brainerd was 10th.
All 16 teams showed the effects of the lack of outdoor practice with only a few under 100.
Medalist honors went to Tiffany Gretch of Albany at 79. Emily Kindeir of Spring Lake Park was second at 86.
For Bemidji, Emily Frosaker led with 96. Shelby Sauer had 97, Kelsey Bretschneider 100 and Megan Phelps 106 to complete the scoring.
The kickers were Erin Buckanaga 115 and Marissa Loch 119.
Jeff Nelson's forces have a heavy week ahead playing Thursday at The Preserve, Friday at The Pines and Saturday at The Legacy.
Liz Neff takes her JV team to Detroit Lakes Tuesday.
