Bemidji High School baseball: Jacks move opener to St. Cloud
The Bemidji Lumberjacks baseball team, giving up hopes of getting the season started at home, has shifted gears and will head south Saturday to face Sauk Rapids and Sartell in a doubleheader.
The two games were to have been played at Bemidji State, with Moorhead also facing the same two opponents in the opposite order.
When BSU had a home twin bill slated Saturday, Bemidji shifted the high school games to the Arena and the Moorhead games to Sagedahl.
But when none of those three diamonds is playable, the move was made.
The Beavers have shifted their weekend games with Upper Iowa to Fayette. Yesterday's home twin bill with Southwest was moved to Marshall.
Bemidji and Sauk Rapids will square off at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex, either Faber Field or Putz Stadium, at 1 with the JV game at Sauk Rapids High.
The 4 p.m. contest will be played at Sartell's Champion Field with the JV game at the high school field.
The home opener will now be the Brainerd game which was postponed April 2 and will be played April 18 at BSU.
Bemidji will face four more road contests against Moorhead, Thief River, St. Cloud Tech and Red River before that date. The TRF game will be played at the Metrodome.
