Bemidji girls place fourth at Detroit Lakes
DETROIT LAKES - Kelsey Isaacson carded a 41-43-84 to lead the Bemidji girls golf team to fourth place at Tuesday's 10-team Detroit Lakes Invitational held at the Detroit Lakes Country Club.
The host team dominated the field with a tournament-record 306. Minnewaska was second at 318, Pequot Lakes third at 334 and Bemidji fourth at 348.
Morgan Williams finished at 85 and Hailey Hinners at 87. Completing Bemidji's scores were Megan Dondelinger's 92, Morgan Miller's 93 and Katelin Craft's 97.
"This tournament shows that we have depth," Craft said. "Today some of us struggled but the other girls stepped it up."
Tuesday's meet represented the final regular season action although BHS hopes to play a practice round at the Long Prairie Golf Course, the site of the section tournament, prior to the June 4 meet.
"I believe we are ready for the sections," Craft said. "The top four girls from today will have to stay where they are and Morgan (Miller) and I will have to shoot like we can. If we do that, we'll do well at the section meet."
