Bemidji girls basketball team beats Detroit Lakes for second straight win
Jess Yost scored 17 points to power the Bemidji girls basketball team to a 46-34 home victory Tuesday over Detroit Lakes.
Tuesday's win was Bemidji's second in a row and the two-game winning streak comes off the heels of a nine-game losing stretch.
Detroit Lakes owned a 12-11 record prior to Tuesday while the Lumberjacks were 5-15. In front of an appreciative parent's night crowd Bemidji played very well, however, and deserved the win.
The Jacks forged a 21-17 lead at intermission and held an advantage the rest of the way.
Yost paced the offense with five field goals and seven-of-eight shooting from the foul line.
Kellie Morehouse and Caitlin Hadrava each scored nine points and Cheyenne Woods added seven.
Bemidji will close its regular season Thursday when it hosts Grand Rapids at 7:30 p.m.
