The Bemidji girls freshmen took the consolation title at the Fosston Invitational Saturday, beating Norman County East and Norman County West after an opening loss to Ada.
Coupled with their 48-35 win at East Grand Forks Friday, it lifted Larry Dahl's frosh to 11-5.
They travel to Duluth Central Feb. 18 for their next start before closing against Grand Rapids and Detroit Lakes, teams they defeated earlier in road tests.
Bemidji showed the effects of the long Friday night trip against Ada, trailing 17-9 at halftime and never catching up. Ada won 35-21.
Casey Palmer hit 7, Rachael Riley 5, Anna Fogarty and Claudia Bellew 3 Jillian Ricci 2 and Kayla Snell 1.
In their second game Bemidji rolled past East 63-28, the 63 a season high.
Palmer hit 13, Riley 12, Tara Bergeron a season-high 11, Bellew 10, Laakso 8, Fogarty 4, Ricci 3 and Snell 2.
It was more of the same against West in a 54-22 decision. Riley hit a season-high 15, while Palmer had 12, Laakso 7, Ricci and Bergeron 6, Bellew 4 and Fogarty and Snell 2
In Friday's win. Bemidji moved ahead 28-20 at the half and widened the gap down the stretch.
Palmer had 15, Snell and Ricci 8, Laakso 5, Bergeron and Fogarty 4, and Riley and Bellew 2.
