The Bemidji Lumberjacks freshmen continued to get outstanding hurling, sweeping Thief River Falls 1-0 and 4-2 Friday at the BYL North baseball diamond.
If lifted Zach McDermott's forces to 18-0 on the year. They host Warroad in a pair today at 4:30.
Drew Peterson hurled a two hitter in the opener fanning eight and walking three, raising his record to 5-0.
Jack Will plated the only run in the fourth with a sacrifice fly, scoring pinch runner Adam Lewis, running for Cody Labernik who had singled.
Ryan Hirt set down the Prowlers on four hits in the nightcap, also reaching 5-0 with six strikeouts and four walks.
Trailing 2-1 in the third, Bemidji went ahead when Nick Hovila doubled, stole third and scored when Peterson's fly to right was misplayed for a three-base error. Devin Barrett sent Peterson across with a sacrifice fly.
Bemidji added an insurance run in the fourth when Lewis singled and scored on Hovila's single.
