Bemidji Fire Department responds to Sunday trailer fire

Bemidji Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Sunday morning in Northern Township. The fire, which was reported at 12:52 a.m. by a neighbor, was located in the 9000 block of Peace Lane N.W. Bemidji firefighters arrived on scene to find a 14-by-70-foot mobile home completely engulfed in fire The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and was being used as a storage building. No injuries were reported. The fire caused an estimated $24,000 in damage with the structure and its contents being totally destroyed. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bemidji Fire Department; however, no foul play is suspected, and it appears to be accidental in nature. The fire department was assisted at the scene by the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office and the Bemidji Ambulance Service.
